Each year, The GIVE raises funds to support excellence and innovation in health care at the Saint John Regional Hospital. In 2016, we are supporting pediatric medicine because we know that when a child is sick, the whole family suffers. And our community is at its best when our children are healthy and happy.
The Pediatrics department at the Saint John Regional Hospital serves children from Sussex to St. Stephen, from birth to age 18. We have 120 dedicated pediatrics staff and 13 physicians committed to providing care for patients and their families.
Our goal is to treat our community’s children here, close to home – including those more serious cases that were referred to the IWK. In fact, regular IWK follow-up clinics in cardiac care, rheumatology, allergies and genetics are held at our hospital, so families can recover together at home.
With your help, we will raise funds to support projects covering a broad spectrum of pediatric services, including two simulation mannequins that will help our doctors, nurses and staff prepare for any medical emergency that may happen.

Listen as Dr. James French, an emergency physician in Saint John and an assistant professor of emergency medicine at the Saint John Regional Hospital explains to CBC Information Morning how The GIVE campaign is raising money for pediatrics services, including simulation mannequins used in emergency training.
At 10 years old, Catherine Alexander has been living with asthma most of her life. When she was just 15 months old, she had her first serious asthma attack. For the Alexanders, the pediatric care they've received at the Saint John Regional Hospital has helped their family manage through some of their toughest days.
Your gifts will help ensure our hospital is always on, always awake - here, for families like yours and the Alexanders, when it's needed most.
